Thank you for visiting mischooltransparency.com, a site dedicated to pointing taxpayers in school districts across Michigan toward public information on school websites.
It has been said that school boards are the unseen layer of government. Budgets are complicated, large, and often understandable. Taxpayers wishing to give their opinion or seek more information often aren’t sure where to turn.
Using the 10 commonly-held points for greater transparency (with an 11th added), each Michigan district is being evaluated based on information provided on their website, and each district will objectively earn a grade.
We are not collecting the information ourselves. Instead, the ‘District Grades’ page is a list of links directly to the district pages where the information is provided.
We strongly encourage site visitors to first visit the ‘Grading Scale’ page first to better understand the chart and grading method on the ‘Grades’ page.
This is a project of the Center for Government Reform and is still in development. We will be updating the information regularly, so please check back.
